Sigma Tau Gamma Fraternity has joined with the Special Olympics’ campaign to “Spread the Word to End the Word”, an effort encouraging people nationwide to pledge to stop using the derogatory word “retard.” The campaign is devoted to educating and raising awareness about individuals with intellectual disabilities and the offensive use of the “R-word” in casual conversation.
We ask collegiate and alumni members to take the pledge to End the Word at R-Word.org. In addition, encourage family, friends, co-workers, students to take this pledge as well.
